The prototype of Wansheng Rice Firm is Wancheng Heng Rice Firm, located in the west of Nanshi River of Luzhi Town. The Wansheng Rice Firm is located in the south gate of Luzhi ancient town, whose traffic connection with the dock of Wancheng Heng Rice Firm can be achieved by traveling north from Nantang Port to the South Bridge, or traveling east from the Tiandu River in the west of Luzhi Town and through the Bang Bridge of the Bureaucratic.
Wancheng Heng Rice Firm, an old and famous shop in Luzhi Town, was created in the early Republican era, and operated by two wealthy partners of the Shen Family and Fan Family in the town. The large-scale Rice Firm had nearly a hundred of granaries to store grains, and was a leading rice firm in East Wu region at that time, becoming one of the food distribution center of Luzhi Town and more than 10 surrounding towns. The pattern of the Rice Firm was "the front stores and the back workshops", i.e. the front of the Rice Firm was a large number of business shops while the back was numerous workshops of rice processing and warehouses of grain storing.
The reconstructed "Wansheng Rice Firm", seeks to reproduce the outlook of the rice market in the southern Yangtze River in Republican era, and hangs the distinguished logo of "Wansheng Rice Firm" under the eaves of three-facade shop, which has been equipped with the counter for the sales of food. After the shop is spacious Shigao courtyard, across which there is "Plow Hall" displaying varieties of the old rice farm tools of the southern Yangtze River and apparatus of grain processing, forming a distinctive water town style of the "Farm Tools Museum".
