The One Liter Vegetarian Restaurant of Luzhi, founded in 1940, was located in the downtown area of the town. It consisted of two upstairs and two downstairs, and was connected with the Built Stacks of Water Lane. The boss, Mr. Yang, whose burly, twinkling eyes, full-bearded of Kui Li-style, and smug state showed a sense of pretty-beard, preferred to surprise others. The folks in the town usually called him Beard Yang.

The audience was amazed by the impromptu advertising of Mr. Yang. From then on, the One Liter Vegetarian Restaurant of Luzhi rose to fame swiftly, and became the most famous restaurant of the town. Mr. Yang died at home of his daughter in Changzhou in 1984, at the age of 80 years old.
